What if you aren’t getting exactly the kind of sale that you anticipated for? There can be hundreds of reasons behind this, and it is best to look at the causes to turn your fate the other way around. After all, you wrote a book to make a sale and not to let it sleep along the book aisle.

Hence, if after all your hard-work you find that you aren’t generating the sale that you expected then here are some tips to do.

1. Check the reviews, and learn from them.

These reviews are not made to pull you down, rather they are “free lessons” that you can use for your improvement. Remember that those sweet reviews coming from friends and family members do not count. Go for those reviews coming from people you do not know.

The thing is, if you like to be a bestseller then you need to act like one. You need to give your reader that WOW once they are able to get hold of your piece. It does not matter what kind of genre you are in, you simply have to leave a mark on them. You have to create an eBook that is powerful enough to move your reader.

Now, what should you do if you do not have these reviews in the first place? This is another case. If you see that no one is reviewing your work then you might want to send out the book for free for at least 3 months. Through this, you will encourage others to download your book and finally give you the review that you need. Do not be afraid to jump into the process of giving your book for free, after all, what is it to lose when your readers aren’t able to find you in the first place.

2. Review your Cover image

You can also work on your cover image once more. There are times when the whole problem is due to the poor cover image. There are instances when authors are confused about why they are getting such good reviews but then there are only a few people who are really interested to purchase the book. So review your cover image once more because a good one surely offers a good promise to your readers too.

To check whether the cover photo actually does the job, you can try to envision your cover without the title and the author name on it. Now, carefully scrutinize whether the book is still able to depict what’s inside just by staring at the cover. The human brain process images faster than written words, so if they are looking at something, their attention is often caught by something that speaks to them.

3. The Price

Another consideration to work on to see why you aren’t generating enough sales is the price of your ebook. When the book is priced too high then fewer people will likely to try it especially if you are a new author and you have yet to make a good name in the industry. So experiment on the price. You can try a lower price first and see whether this will impact the sale.

4. The Audience

Best of all, you can try and check whether you are targeting the right audience. Never assume that you will be able to capture the heart of everybody. It is best to know your target audience so that you can create the book in such a way that the title, the cover, and the description would all fit their needs.
